Balance needs to be brought to this story for the different builds to make it less of a problem if you plan to solo it. I tried and died and gave up. I have no idea why the hit boxes of the mobs are so high, nor why the instance is not balanced around the spec of the player better. But Elementalist is inherently the most glass-cannon class in the game, so even if you do change your build for more sustain, there will always be an aspect of "git gud" to consider. A solo elementalist will always be dependent on dodging, kiting, good positioning, and good use of CC and defensive skills to stay alive, unless you're able to do Mirage is your best bet. They tend to have simple to no required rotations, as opposed to other classes that require extreme piano player keyboard skills in order to pull of the complex rotations involved.
